\nFreshman guard Meg Meekins<\/a> earned Tournament MVP honors after averaging 17.5 points (1st in LSC), 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. She poured in 15 points in her debut and 20 in the finale to lead LCU’s offense.

\n3 > Chappell Shines as Floor General:
\nJunior Kennedy Chappell<\/a> was named the season’s first Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week recipient after averaging 17.0 points (2nd in LSC) and 6.5 assists (1st in LSC). She closed the weekend with a career-high 21 points and seven assists.

\nSophomore Kimber Mathews<\/a> provided efficient scoring off the wing, averaging 12.5 points on .667 shooting from the field to rank fifth in the LSC in scoring through opening weekend.

\nLCU outscored its opponents by a combined +22 (+11 average) in the second halves of its two wins, with a +16 (+8 average) in the third quarters.

\n1 > Colorado Christian opens its 2025\u201326 season with Carissa Ratliff officially at the helm after serving as interim head coach last year. Ratliff led CCU to several competitive performances in 2024\u201325, including three All\u2013RMAC Honorable Mention selections, earning the confidence of the athletic department to guide the program long-term. She previously served as a CCU assistant from 2019\u201321 and now begins her first full season shaping the Cougars’ rebuild.

\n2 > The Cougars enter the year projected 10th in the RMAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll with 75 points, reflecting both the depth of the league and CCU’s transitional roster. Last season, the RMAC featured elite defensive teams at the top, and Colorado Christian will look to climb the ladder behind Ratliff’s full-year structure and several returning contributors.

\nLCU and Colorado Christian have met five prior times (LCU leads the series 4-1), with four meetings since the 2021-22 season. The head-to-head history dates back to an invitational hosted by Colorado Christian on Dec. 3-4, 1993, where the two teams met on Dec. 4, 1993 (Colorado Christian winning 72-55). Last season, LCU claimed a 66-52 win over CCU in Tyler, Texas, which was the first neutral site meeting between the two programs.

\nLubbock Christian improved to 4\u20130 with a 66\u201352 win over Colorado Christian, powered by dominant performances from Grace Foster<\/a> and Audrey Robertson<\/a>. Foster posted a \u00a0double-double with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and three blocks, while Robertson added 21 points and five boards. LCU controlled the glass 42\u201326 and limited CCU to 32.7% shooting, including 19% from three. After briefly trailing early, the Lady Chaps surged ahead with runs in each quarter, building a 10-point halftime lead behind Robertson’s 18 first-half points and perfect 4-of-4 mark from deep. Foster took over after the break with 15 second-half points as LCU outscored the Cougars in every quarter. Maci Maddox<\/a> added 10 points and five assists, helping LCU’s top trio account for 82% of the offense. CCU’s Maggie Hutka led her side with 16 points and nine rebounds.
