{"id":49664,"date":"2025-11-14T17:42:07","date_gmt":"2025-11-14T17:42:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/49664\/"},"modified":"2025-11-14T17:42:07","modified_gmt":"2025-11-14T17:42:07","slug":"man-arrested-in-fatal-stabbing-at-dallas-homeless-encampment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/49664\/","title":{"rendered":"Man Arrested In Fatal Stabbing At Dallas Homeless Encampment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">U.S. Marshals arrested a 30-year-old man on Thursday in the fatal stabbing of a woman at a North Dallas homeless encampment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Joshua Schaeffer <a href=\"https:\/\/dpdbeat.com\/2025\/11\/11\/homicide-at-14400-preston-road\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:faces;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">faces<\/a> a murder charge in the death of 39-year-old Danielle Hollowell, who was found with a stab wound to the neck on Monday afternoon in the 14400 block of Preston Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel pronounced Hollowell dead at the scene after attempting lifesaving measures, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/articles\/dallas-rocked-four-murders-single-180037874.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:The Dallas Express;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Dallas Express<\/a> reported. The Dallas County Medical Examiner confirmed her identity on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Witnesses <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox4news.com\/news\/man-accused-killing-woman-he-lived-under-north-dallas-bridge\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:told;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">told<\/a> investigators that Schaeffer, also known as \u201cNate,\u201d and Hollowell had been living together in a tent under a nearby bridge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to an arrest affidavit, Schaeffer became upset before entering the tent, with Hollowell following shortly after. Witnesses then heard sounds of a struggle inside. One saw Schaeffer run out holding a knife and flee on foot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Multiple witnesses identified Schaeffer as the attacker, and two picked him from a photo lineup.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force took Schaeffer into custody Thursday afternoon. He was booked into Dallas County Jail.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The investigation continues. Anyone with information should contact Detective Y.
