The suspect who allegedly attacked a jogger with a hammer in Plano is now charged with kidnapping.<\/p>\n

Sergio Noe De Nova Duarte, a 17-year-old Plano resident, allegedly used a hammer<\/a> to assault a woman jogging in Bob Woodruff Park on November 13, according to the Plano Police Department. Now, he is charged with felony \u201caggravated kidnapping, bodily injury.\u201d<\/p>\n

Duarte is being held at the Collin County Detention Facility, according to the department. The Crimes Against Persons Unit is investigating the assault.<\/p>\n

Plano police responded to an assault<\/a> near 2300 Shiloh Road around 5 p.m. on November 13, according to the department.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe female victim was jogging in Bob Woodruff Park when she was attacked by an unknown male who used a hammer to strike the victim,\u201d the department posted<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The suspect \u2013 now identified as Duarte \u2013 fled the scene. Meanwhile, Plano Fire-Rescue brought the victim to a local hospital.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That night, Plano police announced they had captured<\/a> the suspect.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cDue to the arrest of the suspect, there are no public safety concerns,\u201d department officials said at the time.\u00a0<\/p>\n
