The study considered factors such as violent and property crime rates, registered sex offender counts, pedestrian fatalities and police staffing levels.

Frisco landed at No. 5 nationwide, McKinney came in at No. 9 and Plano ranked No. 22. Each city stood out for low crime rates, strong police presence and pedestrian safety, key ingredients for a safe Halloween environment.

Photo: Rawpixel.com | Shutterstock

Frisco Leads The Region

Frisco’s ranking at No. 5 places it among the top-performing cities nationwide. The city reports just 10.1 violent crimes and 100.3 property crimes per 10,000 residents, with only 1.4 registered sex offenders per 10,000 and an average of 0.1 pedestrian fatalities annually. Those figures, paired with 15.4 law enforcement officers per 10,000 residents, underscore Frisco’s commitment to public safety.

McKinney And Plano Also Shine

McKinney, ranked ninth, reflects similar trends. With 11.7 violent crimes and 81.5 property crimes per 10,000 residents, along with 14.6 officers and 0.1 pedestrian fatalities per 10,000 annually, the city continues to be a model of safety and community engagement.

Plano, coming in at No. 22, boasts one of the highest police staffing levels among Texas cities, 20.4 officers per 10,000 residents. Despite its larger population, Plano maintains relatively low violent crime (15.2 per 10,000) and pedestrian fatality rates (0.2 per 10,000).

Safe Streets, Sweet Rewards

With all three Collin County cities recognized in the national top 25, families across the area can look forward to a Halloween that’s not only festive but safe. From Frisco’s quiet neighborhoods to Plano’s well-lit streets, local law enforcement and community vigilance help ensure that the scariest part of the night stays confined to costumes and haunted houses.

Other top-ranked cities in the national list include Yonkers, Naperville, New York City and Gilbert, Arizona.
