One Fort Worth restaurant was closed during the Nov. 2-8 health inspections due to water issues, and flies and roaches were found at other eateries, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.<\/p>\n
Paletas Hidalgo at 3510 E. Lancaster Ave. scored 12 demerits on Nov. 6. There was no thermometer in the reach-in coolers, some bags of chips were stored on the floor, and there was insufficient hot water at the sinks. The city closed the facility until the hot water issue could be taken care of.<\/p>\n
Fort Worth uses a demerit system, with zero being a perfect score. Restaurants that receive more than 30 demerits are required to fix the worst problems immediately and clean up the rest of the violations within 48 hours. No restaurants scored more than 30 during this round of inspections, but several received high demerit scores.<\/p>\n
Asian King Buffet at 6051 SW Loop 820 scored 30 on Nov. 4. Raw eggs and imitation crab were held at an unsafe temperature, fly traps were found hanging in the kitchen and some sauces in the refrigerator weren\u2019t date marked. The facility scored 12 during a Nov. 7 follow-up inspection.<\/p>\n
The Point On Lake Worth at 1349 Bomber Road scored 28 on Nov. 5. The inspector found black organic matter in the ice machine, dead roaches near the walk-in cooler, and moths and mosquitoes in the men\u2019s bathroom. Also some employees hadn\u2019t completed an accredited food-handler course and the posted permit was expired.<\/p>\n
Nancy\u2019s Good Luck Drive In at 900 W. Rosedale St. scored 26 on Nov. 5. Some corn dogs were uncovered in the food prep cooler, paint and other construction materials at the site weren\u2019t properly stored, and the walls and floors were dirty.<\/p>\n
Y & H Stop N Save at 2912 Vaughn Blvd. scored 26 on Nov. 4. The inspector found flies in the establishment, chemicals stored next to drink mixes and improperly labeled packaged food.<\/p>\n
