The St. Vincent de Paul Corpus Christi Conference will be hosting their annual food drive Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 15 and 16, to supply the Ahwatukee church’s food pantry that serves families in the community.

St. Vincent de Paul is an international organization dedication to serving the poor and giving people an opportunity to help those less fortunate than them.

The Corpus Christi conference holds a variety of charitable endeavors throughout the year and this weekend’s food drive is one of the major activities.

Volunteers will be making food boxes for those in need for Thanksgiving and Christmas and are concerned about a decline in food donations amid an increase in requests for food.

“We are hoping to get enough donations during our food drive not only to hold us through the holidays, but through several months thereafter,” a spokeswoman said.

Nonperishable food items will be collected at Corpus Christi Church, 3550 E. Knox Road, 9 a.m.-noon Nov. 15 at the church’s 36th Street lot and at 3-4 that day at the church’s doors.

On Nov. 16, volunteers will collect food prior to 7:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m. 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. masses at the church’s main entrances.

Non-perishable items such as canned goods, including cranberry sauce, pasta sauce, pastas, stuffing, boxed dried potatoes, cereals, peanut butter, jelly, and the like are needed, as are monetary donations.

The St. Vincent de Paul Corpus Christi Conference will be hosting their annual food drive Saturday and Sunday, Nov.…

[14
28707,28708,155,157,156,28705,28706,28704
post-50635","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-corpus-christi","tag-ahwatukee-churches","tag-ahwatukee-food-pantries","tag-corpus-christi","tag-corpus-christi-headlines","tag-corpus-christi-news","tag-st-vincent-de-paul","tag-st-vincent-de-paul-ahwatukee","tag-st-vincent-de-paul-corpus-christi
["GET
