One Plano restaurant was closed after receiving a failing score during Nov. 2-8 health inspections and another eatery had its permit suspended, according to data from the city compiled by the Star-Telegram.<\/p>\n

The city of Plano scores restaurants and other businesses that serve food on a 100-point system. A score of 100 is considered a perfect score and 70 is extremely poor.<\/p>\n

Anjappar at 4940 McDermott Road scored 69 on Nov. 4. The inspector found cutting boards with food debris, eggs at room temperature and employees without hair restraints. Some of the issues were repeat violations from the previous inspection in July, and the certified food manager didn\u2019t demonstrate an understanding of food safety.<\/p>\n

The establishment was temporarily closed due to the failing score. Anjappar scored 79 the following day and was allowed to reopen.<\/p>\n

Casa Linda Taqueria at 2380 E. Park Blvd. scored 50 on Nov. 5. The inspector found sewage overflowing from the floor drain under the three-compartment sink. The taqueria was required to contact a licensed plumber immediately to repair the problem. The city closed the restaurant and suspended it permit until it can undergo a follow-up inspection.<\/p>\n

Several other eateries received low scores.<\/p>\n

De Ra Coffee at 2320 Los Rios Blvd. scored 73 on Nov. 3 The person in charge didn\u2019t have an active certified food manager certificate, some milk was stored at an unsafe temperature and several bottles of cleaners weren\u2019t properly labeled.<\/p>\n

Dimassi\u2019s Mediterranean Buffet at 4940 Texas 121 scored 74 on Nov. 5. An employee was eating while preparing food, some raw chicken was stored on top of cooked meat and some buckets of raw chicken were being thawed at room temperature.<\/p>\n

Tacos Chaco, located inside One Stop Food Store at 2900 14th St. scored 76 on Nov. 4. Employees weren\u2019t effectively washing their hands due to the repeat violation of no soap and paper towels at the hand sinks, raw pork was stored above some ready-to-eat food and some cooked food in the reach-in cooler wasn\u2019t date marked.<\/p>\n

Donuts La Reyna Imperial at 2380 E. Park Blvd. scored 77 on Nov. 6. Some employees hadn\u2019t completed an accredited food handler course, a cake containing milk wasn\u2019t held at a safe temperature and some employees weren\u2019t properly washing their hands.<\/p>\n

Afribbean Market at 901 E. Plano Parkway scored 85 on Nov. 3. The establishment has been repackaging meat and fish products received in bulk in a part of the store that doesn\u2019t have adequate food preparation equipment. They have been instructed during three previous inspections going back to 2022 to stop packaging food on site.<\/p>\n

On Nov. 3 the inspector also found the repeat violation of rodent droppings on the floor under the mop sink and three-compartment sink.<\/p>\n

Saucy\u2019s Thai and Pho at 4152 W. Spring Creek Parkway scored 91 on Nov. 4. The inspector found two live roaches in the facility, as well as issues with insufficient hot water at one of the sinks.<\/p>\n
