Free throws played a big role in the LCU win, as the Chaps went 14-for-16 from the line (87.5 percent), while the Orediggers hit just 7 of their 14 attempts (50 percent).

Lubbock Christian improved to 3-0 overall. Colorado School of Mines fell to 0-4 on the season.

The Orediggers opened the game with the first six points before LCU got on the board with a Kendall Dow three-pointer, but Mines still held an early advantage seven minutes into the game.

A key momentum shift occurred with a 7–0 run, highlighted by Dow’s second 3-pointer and an Alex Anamekwe layup, putting the Chaparrals ahead 19–12 with 12:34 left in the half. The Chaps blocked two shots and grabbed three steals in the half.

Lubbock Christian continued to push at the start of the second half, and another 6-0 burst got the lead to its widest margin of 15 points at the 13:29 mark.

LCU still led by 12 with just over four minutes to go when Mines made its final push. As the Chap offense went cold, the Orediggers rattled off 11 straight points to cut the deficit to just one with barely more than a minute to go.
