<\/p>\n LUBBOCK, Texas (November 14, 2025) \u2014 No. 25 Lubbock Christian University defeated No. 10 Colorado School of Mines 63-58 at the Rip Griffin Center on Friday night.<\/p>\n The Chaparrals led by nine at halftime and fended off a second-half rally from Colorado School of Mines to secure the win. Free throws played a big role in the LCU win, as the Chaps went 14-for-16 from the line (87.5 percent), while the Orediggers hit just 7 of their 14 attempts (50 percent).\u00a0<\/p>\n Lubbock Christian improved to 3-0 overall. Colorado School of Mines fell to 0-4 on the season.<\/p>\n The Orediggers opened the game with the first six points before LCU got on the board with a Kendall Dow<\/a> three-pointer, but Mines still held an early advantage seven minutes into the game.\u00a0<\/p>\n A key momentum shift occurred with a 7\u20130 run, highlighted by Dow’s second 3-pointer and an Alex Anamekwe<\/a> layup, putting the Chaparrals ahead 19\u201312 with 12:34 left in the half. Despite Colorado School of Mines’ attempts to close the gap, the Chaps maintained their lead, getting a defensive stop to finish the first half with a 35\u201326 advantage.<\/p>\n LCU’s defense came up big in the opening 20 minutes, holding the Orediggers to just 35.5 percent shooting, including only 25 percent from behind the arc. The Chaps blocked two shots and grabbed three steals in the half.<\/p>\n Lubbock Christian continued to push at the start of the second half, and another 6-0 burst got the lead to its widest margin of 15 points at the 13:29 mark.\u00a0<\/p>\n LCU still led by 12 with just over four minutes to go when Mines made its final push. As the Chap offense went cold, the Orediggers rattled off 11 straight points to cut the deficit to just one with barely more than a minute to go. Key free throws by Amondo Miller Jr.<\/a> and Dow in the final minute gave the Chaps some cushion, as they secured the 63\u201358 victory.<\/p>\n Kendall Dow<\/a> scored 15 points, converting three of four from beyond the arc, and added four assists. Amondo Miller Jr.<\/a> contributed 13 points while collecting seven rebounds and four assists. Antonio Pusateri<\/a> finished with 13 points and secured a team-high 12 rebounds, also making two steals. Alex Anamekwe<\/a> added 12 points, including two three-pointers, and recorded six rebounds along with one block and one steal.<\/p>\n GAME NOTES: NEXT UP:\u00a0
\n– Friday marked only the third time in Dow’s career that he led the Chaps in scoring.
\n– The Chaparrals’ 3-0 start to the season is their best since the 2021-22 season, when they won their first 20 games of the year.
\n– The Chaps shot 48.1 percent in the first half but just 33.3 percent in the second half, and their 40.1 percent shooting percentage for the game marked the first time this season they shot below 50 percent in a game.
\n– Five different Chaps finished in double-figures – the second time this season that has happened.
