A Black mother has gone to social media to express her outrage about her daughter allegedly facing discrimination while she was in labor at Dallas<\/a> Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, Texas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The frustrated mother, Kash (who goes by kashman2814 on TikTok), posted a video of her daughter, Karrie Jones, screaming in agony while waiting to be admitted to the hospital.<\/p>\n

The Texas mom was in visible pain while waiting to be admitted at Dallas Regional Medical Center<\/p>\n

The video she posted to TikTok shows Jones sitting in a wheelchair and fighting serious pain while a nurse sits in front of a computer nearby and asks a barrage of questions to collect the woman\u2019s medical information. The nurse asks a series of questions about how many times Jones has been pregnant, how many kids she has, who her doctor is, and her due date.<\/p>\n

She can also be heard in the background of the video while recording the exchange between the nurse and her daughter.<\/p>\n

\u201cY\u2019all treat all your patients like this or just the Black ones?\u201d she said as the nurse continued to enter the information on the computer.<\/p>\n

As the nurse appeared to forget Karrie\u2019s due date at one point, Jones and her mother became upset and yelled out the due date. Jones forces herself to stand up from the wheelchair before the video ends and continues to painfully scream.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre y\u2019all for real right now? Does she have to give birth in a chair?\u201d she said in the video.<\/p>\n

The nurse then told Jones\u2019 mother that she \u201ccan\u2019t take her upstairs.\u201d She continued to fight for daughter, asking why the staff would \u201ctake a chance of infections and her having a baby in this chair.\u201d<\/p>\n

In her post on TikTok, Kash said that Jones\u2019s \u201cson was born 12 minutes later.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis woman had her in the waiting area more than 30 minutes,\u201d she added. \u201cThe delivery was awful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dallas Regional Medical Center\u2019s statement about the viral video<\/p>\n

In a statement to People<\/a>, the Dallas Regional Medical Center said \u201cthe safety, dignity, and well-being of our patients are always our highest priorities,\u201d but additional information could not be provided due to privacy laws.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care to every person who comes through our doors, and we are reviewing this situation to understand what occurred,\u201d the hospital said. \u201cDue to patient privacy laws, we cannot share further details at this time, but our focus remains on ensuring that every patient receives the attentive, respectful care they deserve.\u201d<\/p>\n
