MONTREAL \u2014 Jason Robertson<\/a> had two goals and an assist, Casey DeSmith<\/a> made 23 saves and the Dallas Stars<\/a> thumped the Montreal Canadiens<\/a> 7-0 in a dominant outing on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Wyatt Johnston<\/a> \u2014 with his 100th career goal \u2014 Esa Lindell<\/a>, Tyler Seguin<\/a>, Colin Blackwell<\/a> and Alexander Petrovic<\/a> also scored for Dallas (11-4-3), which won its fourth straight game. Radek Faksa<\/a> provided three assists and Mikko Rantanen<\/a> added two.<\/p>\n

DeSmith earned his first shutout of the season \u2014 and the Stars\u2019 second in 2025-26.<\/p>\n

Jakub Dobes<\/a> allowed five goals on 13 shots through two periods to earn his second consecutive loss for Montreal (10-5-2) after beginning the season with six straight wins. Sam Montembeault<\/a> entered the game in the third period but didn\u2019t fare much better, stopping four of six.<\/p>\n

The Canadiens, who entered the night in first place in the Atlantic Division, lost their second game in a row and fourth in five outings.<\/p>\n

Montreal controlled much of the first period, but Johnston opened the scoring on the power play at 14:21, finishing a tick-tack-toe play with Roope Hintz<\/a> and Rantanen.<\/p>\n

The Stars then exploded with even-strength goals from Lindell, Seguin and two from Robertson in the second period to grab a 5-0 lead.<\/p>\n
