The QSA analysis highlighted factors driving enrollment declines: lower birth rates, housing growth outside district boundaries, family mobility, competition from charters and homeschool trends; staff cited an observed district decline of roughly 900 students from the prior year in the presented data.<\/p>\n
Community engagement findings from surveys and town halls were summarized: parents prioritized safe\/friendly school environments, teacher-student relationships, and mental-health supports; 71.4% of survey respondents said they would be likely or very likely to support consolidation of small schools if it expanded opportunities. Administration said next steps include focus groups (about 80 volunteers so far), adopting an optimization framework in a future meeting, and building a public-facing dashboard with school-level metrics. Officials also flagged LASO (learning acceleration\/support opportunities) grant opportunities with a December application window and said they will pursue applicable grants.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Lubbock ISD officials briefed trustees on the Quality Seats Analysis (QSA) and district-optimization work designed to align facilities,…\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":51937,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[16],"tags":[168,170,169],"class_list":{"0":"post-51936","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-lubbock","8":"tag-lubbock","9":"tag-lubbock-headlines","10":"tag-lubbock-news"},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/51936","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=51936"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/51936\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/51937"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=51936"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=51936"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=51936"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
