\nThe game was back-and-forth, featuring three ties and five lead changes with UTA leading for 18:25 minutes compared to Lamar leading for 16:39 minutes.

\nThe Lady Mavs had three players score in double figures, led by Nya Threatt<\/a>, who had 13 points. Kira Reynolds<\/a> tacked on 12 points, six rebounds and two blocks while Mila Reynolds<\/a> chipped in as well with 10 points and two steals.
\n\u00a0
\nLed by Alexsyah Goudeau’s<\/a> two offensive rebounds, UTA did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 13 boards that resulted in 12 second chance points.

\nThe UTA defense caused its share of mistakes in Sunday’s game, forcing 20 Lamar turnovers. Those takeaways turned into 15 points on the other end of the floor. Mila Reynolds’<\/a> two steals led the way individually for the Lady Mavs.

\nGAME FLOW
\nThreatt came out without missing a beat from last game for the Lady Mavs, recording the first basket of the game while drawing the foul and converting the and-one to give UTA an early 3-0 lead. An 8-0 run for the Cardinals gave them the lead which they would hold for the remainder of the quarter although the Lady Mavs remained within striking distance, going into the second stanza down two, 15-13.

\nThe two would exchange buckets to begin the second quarter before a 13-0 run from the Lady Mavs gave them an 11 point lead, 28-17. Lamar kept it close, managing to get off a shot before time expired in the quarter to go into the locker room down eight, 34-26.

\nUTA appeared to pick up right where they left off coming out of the locker room, registering the first two baskets of the third quarter to put the Lady Mavs up by 12, 38-26, their largest lead of the game. The Cardinals managed to outscore the Lady Mavs the remainder of the third, 19-6, to go into the final frame up by one, 45-44.

\nThe Lady Mavs managed to regain the lead at the start of the fourth behind a Kira Reynolds<\/a> made jumper to put them up 46-45. Lamar would answer with a 6-0 run to regain the lead, one they would not relinquish for the remainder of the game. The Lady Mavs managed to get it down to one, 53-52, with 6:46 left in the game. But Lamar would go on an 8-1 run to put the game out of reach for the Lady Mavs. Lamar would end the game on a 5-0 run to give them the double digit win, 66-55.

\nGAME NOTES<\/p>\n
\n\tDespite the loss, UTA still leads the all-time series 24-20. Their record in Beaumont falls below .500 at 9-10.
\n\tThe UTA defense forced 20 turnovers, the third time this season they’ve forced 20 plus turnovers in a game.
\n\tThe Lady Mavs tallied five blocks as a team, the third time this season they’ve recorded five or more blocks in a game.
\n\tThreatt finished with 13 points, her second straight game scoring in double figures.
\n\tMila Reynolds<\/a> finished with 10 points, her third straight game recording double digit points.
\n\tThe Lady Mavs shot 6.7-percent from deep, their worst mark of the season.
\n\tUTA outperformed Lamar at the free throw line, shooting 78.3-percent compared to 72.4-percent from the charity stripe.
\n\tThe Lady Mavs cleaned up on the offensive glass, collecting 13 offensive boards in the game.

\nThe Lady Mavs turn their sites to the Hawaii North Shore Classic in Laie, Hawaii. The Lady Mavs are slated to play three games starting with Colorado on Saturday, Nov. 22, for a 9 p.m. CT tipoff. UTA wraps up the tournament with Texas A&M on Nov. 24 and ends with VCU on Nov. 25.
