George Strait<\/a> announced that he\u2019s adding a second night in Lubbock, Texas due to overwhelming demand.<\/p>\nJust about a week and a half ago, the country music icon announced a one-night-only concert at Jones AT&T Stadium on Saturday, April 25, 2026\u00a0featuring Miranda Lambert and Hudson Westbrook. This\u00a0 newly-added date is set for Friday, April 24, 2026,, and will feature Zach Top and Dylan Gossett as openers.<\/p>\n
Strait has mostly been doing short summer stadium tours over the last several years, and while he doesn\u2019t stay on the road year-round like he used to, those select stadium shows always sell out, and it\u2019s impressive that he continues to be able to do that into his 70s.<\/p>\n
He has also continued to put out new music, recently releasing a studio album called Cowboys and Dreamers, that includes a song called \u201cHonky Tonk Hall of Fame\u201d featuring Chris Stapleton, which is nominated for Best Country Duo\/Group Performance at next year\u2019s 2026 GRAMMY Awards, bringing Strait\u2019s total career-nominations to 17.<\/p>\n

Strait also has a show in Death Valley, home of the Clemson Tigers in Clemson, South Carolina, at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026. It\u2019s an in-the-round concert that features two incredible opening acts in Cody Johnson and Wyatt Flores.<\/p>\n
For any George Strat concert these days, I recommend being ready to go when tickets go on sale if you\u2019re hoping to go to one of them, because it\u2019s gong to sell out at some point:<\/p>\n
In addition to the Clemson show in 2026, Strait is going to be one of the honorees at the 47th Annual Kennedy Center Honors this December, which recognizes his lifetime of contributions to American culture through the performing arts.<\/p>\n
Located in Washington, D.C., The Kennedy Center is a living memorial to President John F. Kennedy, and notable country acts who have been honored over the years include legends like Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Merle Haggard, George Jones and many more. George Strait is a perfect addition to that list, and I\u2019m sure some beloved country artists will also be in attendance to pay tribute to one of country music\u2019s most beloved artists.<\/p>\n
The 2025 Kennedy Center Honors will take place in December and air on CBS.<\/p>\n
And I\u2019m not sure if he will announce any other show dates for next year, though I wouldn\u2019t be surprised to see at least one or two others added to the list over the next several months. I saw Strait a couple years ago in Charlotte, and it\u2019s still one of my favorite concerts I\u2019ve ever seen, so if you have the chance or have had Strait on your bucket list for a while, don\u2019t miss out on this one.
