It’s fall y’all and not only does that mean the return of football and the\u00a0State Fair of Texas<\/a>, it means dusting off your boots, pulling out your plaid, grabbing anything pumpkin spice and heading outdoors.<\/p>\n

So we scoured the World Wide Web looking for all the fall festivals happening in North Texas, and we’ve collected them in a list for you.<\/p>\n

We’ve listed them alphabetically by city so that you can plan your autumn adventures. We think you can plan something every weekend in October here!<\/p>\n

ARLINGTON FALL FESTIVAL<\/p>\n

Haunted House in Downtown Arlington<\/a>

CEDAR HILL FALL FESTIVALS<\/p>\n

Are you ready for food, fun and games? Then Cedar Shill State Park’s biggest annual event is the place to be. You’ll see the Buffalo Soldiers, game wardens, folks from the Perot Museum and various vendors. You can tour historic Penn Farm and learn how to do things the old-fashioned way with the Dutch Oven Society and Weaver’s Guild. The event is free with a $7 per-person park entry fee or presentation of a Texas State Parks Pass. Children 12 and under enter the park for free.<\/p>\n

Haunted History Walk<\/a>

Spooky season is here and rumor has it spirits from Penn Farm have returned to give a history lesson. Join the ranger-led program exploring the farm after dark and meet some of the characters who called it home years ago. The event is free with a $7 per-person park entry fee or presentation of a Texas State Parks Pass. Children 12 and under enter the park for free.<\/p>\n

CORINTH FALL FESTIVAL<\/p>\n

It’s a spook-tacular Halloween event for all ages. You can take part in a costume contest or pie eating contest. You can grab some candy during trunk or treat, play carnival games, and enjoy a showing of Hotel Transylvania. Admission and all activities are free!<\/p>\n

DALLAS FALL FESTIVALS<\/p>\n

Autumn at the Arboretum<\/a>

It\u2019s the 20th annual fall festival at the Dallas Arboretum. The theme for the Pumpkin Village this year in 2025 is \u201cTexas Town.\u201d 100,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash from the pumpkin capital of Texas, Floydada, will be on display or you can wander among 150,000 fall-blooming plants. Events are programmed throughout the month.<\/p>\n

D\u00eda de los Muertos Parade and Festival<\/a>

Dallas’ D\u00eda de los Muertos Parade and Festival is a yearly tradition in its fifth year. There will be music, sugar skulls, live music, concessions, fun, arts and crafts and so much more. The event is free to the public. D\u00eda de los Muertos Festival is from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. There is also a parade!<\/p>\n

DENTON FALL FESTIVAL<\/p>\n

Denton\u2019s Day of the Dead Festival<\/a>

Held outside on Hickory and Industrial St,\u00a0Denton\u2019s Day of the Dead Festival\u00a0captures the very essence of Denton\u2019s artistic spirit: a true collaboration of the eclectic art and music community that only the northernmost tip of the golden triangle can provide.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Nothing says fall like a scarecrow. The Midlothian Downtown Business Association’s annual scarecrow festival’s theme this year is the movies. Scarecrows go up Oct. 10-16 and stay up through early November. The winner is announced at Heritage Day on Oct. 18. <\/p>\n

PILOT POINT FALL FESTIVAL<\/p>\n

Pilot Point Main Street is hosting a fun night of trick-or-treating on the Square. Downtown merchants will be handing out candy, there will be fun carnival games and a hay ride. You can also take a Haunted Tour of the Opera House from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Entry is $5 and benefits the Community Opera House. The entry fee for the kids, adults and group costume contests are $25 benefiting downtown businesses.<\/p>\n

PLANO FALL FESTIVAL<\/p>\n

Whether you’re a little goblin or a grown-up ghoul, there\u2019s something for everyone to enjoy.<\/p>\n

MURPHY FALL FESTIVAL<\/p>\n

This fall festival will be packed with fun. Come dressed to impress — there will be a sugar stroll (sometimes called a trunk or treat) and costume contests for kids, dogs, tweens, teens and groups. There will be face painting, games, a haunted maze and inflatables and you’ll want to stick around for the fire show. The whole event is free but you’ll have to pay vendors for services or products. <\/p>\n

RICHARDSON FALL FESTIVAL<\/p>\n

Who can resist a costume contest, marketplace, family-friendly activities and live music as well as craft beer, wine and fall treats? You’ll find all that and more at the 49th Huffines Harvest Fest (formerly known as Huffines Art Trails). Saturday will be all about your furry friends with Pawtoberfest, while Sunday will be for the kiddos with the Children’s Entrepreneur Market. Both days will have activities for all ages, like pumpkin decorating and a petting zoo. There will also be music on two different stages featuring something for everyone.<\/p>\n

ROANOKE FALL FESTIVAL<\/p>\n

Thousands are expected to fill Southlake Town Square for a three-day family-friendly event featuring food, arts, entertainment and more. Attendance is free and so is the entertainment, but you\u2019ll have to pay for the food, beverages and arts and crafts. The famous Weiner Dog Race is on Saturday.<\/p>\n

THE COLONY FALL FESTIVAL<\/p>\n
