The All-Kids Bike program, brought to you by HDR, aims to teach kindergartners how to ride a\u00a0bike\u00a0in PE class to boost their confidence.<\/p>\n

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 London Primary School received new bicycles on Monday as a donation from the HDR Foundation to introduce kindergartners to safely learn how to ride bikes through a new program.<\/p>\n

The primary school received 24 bicycles for the students and a teacher’s bike that will be used to instruct the curriculum, including helmets.<\/p>\n

HDR Foundation partners with All Kids Bike, a national nonprofit program dedicated to giving every child the confidence, physical fitness, and independence they need to learn how to ride a bike.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Alexa Fulbright administrative assistant at HDR said, “The main focus and the goal that we’re trying to do is really build and encourage kids to get out into their communities, into their neighborhoods, and learn how to bike, something that’s so simple but seems a little bit foreign over time, um, so really getting them out there, but also especially for neighborhoods nearby the school, we want them to learn how to safely and effectively ride their bikes and get to school in a safe manner.”<\/p>\n

The HDR Foundation has provided a grant of $90,000 to All-Kids Bike for the 2025-2026 school year for the program that includes teacher training and certification, the comprehensive 8-lesson learn-to-ride curriculum, a fleet of 24 Strider balance-to-pedal bikes, pedal conversion kits, student helmets, a teacher instruction bike, and rolling storage racks.<\/p>\n

Fulbright said this is the second program we’re bringing to the Coastal Bend. She adds, “I think it’s a very great opportunity just not only in Corpus Christi but throughout the US and really having that strong partnership. We’re hoping to keep it long and going strong.”<\/p>\n
