CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 Corpus Christi Medical Center celebrated a significant upgrade Monday as hospital leaders marked the expansion of the Bay Area emergency room with a ribbon-cutting and groundbreaking ceremony.<\/p>\n
The project includes an expanded ER that will open Dec. 1 with 13 state-of-the-art beds. Hospital officials said the improvements are part of a broader effort to strengthen emergency care services across the Coastal Bend.<\/p>\n
The expansion also introduces new biplane imaging technology, a system designed to help physicians diagnose and treat trauma, strokes and other life-threatening conditions more quickly and with greater precision.<\/p>\n
David Irizarry, CEO of Corpus Christi Medical Center, said the upgrades reflect the hospital\u2019s commitment to providing high-quality care for the community. He said CCMC will \u201ccontinuously work on ways to partner with the community and provide award-winning and nationally recognized care that the community deserves.\u201d<\/p>\n
The hospital plans to continue expanding its Bay Area campus. Two additional floors are scheduled to open by 2028, adding more capacity and specialized services to the facility.<\/p>\n
