LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD)- Following an 81-77 loss at No. 14 Illinois (now No. 8), the Texas Tech men\u2019s basketball team (3-1) has dropped to No. 15 in the Associated Press rankings released Monday afternoon. The team is now gearing up for a business trip to the Bahamas for the Baha Mar Hoops tournament. There, they await Wake Forest and then- potentially No. 1 Purdue who will face Memphis. <\/p>\n
\u201cI think the key to it though, is that on these road trips to these locations where the temperature is warmer, you just got to stay hydrated,\u201d said men\u2019s basketball coach Grant McCasland. \u201cIt really comes down to nutrition because you\u2019re playing two games in a couple days and you got to be prepared for all of it. And it really starts with what we do before we leave and how we travel. And we\u2019re excited to go compete!\u201d <\/p>\n
Wake Forest currently has a 4-1 record. Their one loss was 85-84 to No. 6 Michigan, up in Detroit. <\/p>\n
\u201cWake Forest is super aggressive. They\u2019re a great defensive team, they put pressure on the rim in transition. They got a lot of active ball handlers that can score. I love their team, man. I love their physicality. I love the way they compete,\u201d said McCasland. \u201cCoach Forbes is a fantastic coach that always has his team playing great this time of year. So, we\u2019re definitely know that we\u2019re going to have to handle their pressure and handle their force that they put on the rim in transition.\u201d <\/p>\n
