EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) \u2014 The bi-district round of the Texas high school football playoffs is complete, and three El Paso teams are moving on \u2014 a major improvement from last season, when Del Valle was the only local program to advance.<\/p>\n
Eastwood Troopers (Class 6A Division II)<\/p>\n
The Eastwood Troopers were among the standout performers from the opening round. <\/p>\n
Eastwood handled Frenship 45-30 at Trooper Stadium. It was Eastwood\u2019s first bi-district title since 2022.<\/p>\n
Next, the Troopers will travel to Lubbock to face Byron Nelson \u2014 the runner-up in District 4-6A behind perennial Texas powerhouse Southlake Carroll. <\/p>\n
Kickoff is set for Friday at Lubbock-Cooper High School, 5 p.m. MT \/ 6 p.m. CT.<\/p>\n
El Dorado Aztecs (Class 5A Division I)<\/p>\n
In Class 5A, the El Dorado Aztecs needed every point in a wild, high-scoring thriller.<\/p>\n
The Aztecs defeated Amarillo High 77-76 in a four-quarter shootout at the SAC II last Friday. It\u2019s El Dorado\u2019s first bi-district title since 2012.<\/p>\n
El Dorado will take on Richland, the third-place finisher from District 3-5A Division I. <\/p>\n
The area-round matchup between El Dorado and Richland will be played at Texas Tech\u2019s Jones AT&T Stadium on Friday, with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. MT \/ 7 p.m. CT.<\/p>\n
Andress Eagles (Class 5A Division II)<\/p>\n
The Andress Eagles also punched their ticket to the next round with a 28-14 win over Wichita Falls Memorial at Allan Sepkowitz Stadium.<\/p>\n
The victory marked the first time an El Paso team has ever beaten a Wichita Falls ISD program, according to the El Paso Times.<\/p>\n
Andress will now meet Melissa High School, the District 4-5A Division II runner-up.
