EVANSVILLE, Indiana \u2013 UT Arlington men’s basketball (3-1) is in the Hoosier state to take on Evansville on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. CT from the Ford Center. \nUTA was dominant in its Homecoming Game, knocking off Missouri State 67-49 on Saturday night in the CPC, where UTA is 3-0. The Purple Aces fell 77-72 on Wednesday night their last time out.

\nThis marks the third-ever meeting between the two programs, with the series tied at one apiece. UTA knocked off Evansville 80-54 on Dec. 18, 2024, in Arlington. The only other meeting was in 1983, a win by the Purple Aces in Evansville, Indiana.

\nEvansville is led by head coach David Ragland, who is in his fourth year with the Purple Aces. The Evansville, Indiana, native has coached previously at Vincennes (2008-10) and has also been an assistant at Butler (2021-22), Utah State (2018-21), Valparaiso (2016-18), Northern Kentucky (2015-16), Bowling Green (2014-15), Indiana State (2010-14), Vincennes (2005-08) and Frank Phillips (2004-05).

\nThe Purple Aces are led by a trio scoring in double figures this season – forwards Joshua Huhes (13.0 ppg and 6.5 rpg), Connor Turnbull (11.3 ppg and 4.3 rpg) and AJ Casey (10.0 ppg and 6.3 rpg).

\nThe Mavs are led by a tremendous team defense out of the gates, as UTA enters play ranking third nationally in field goal percentage defense (32.1%), third in rebound margin (+18.00), fifth in three-point percentage defense (19.7%), sixth in scoring defense (56.0 ppg), eighth in rebounds per game (49.25) and 15th in blocks per game (6.5).

\nOffensively its been Raysean Seamster’s<\/a> steady string of performances (17.5 ppg, 7.3 rpg on 62.5% shooting from the field). Additionally, sophomore point guard Cash Chavis<\/a> has been an engine as well, posting back-to-back eight assist games, and on the year is averaging 10.8 ppg, 6.3 apg and 4.0 rpg). Fellow sophomore guard Bahsil Laster<\/a> has scored in double figures in three of four games and senior guard Marcell McCreary<\/a>, who was inserted into the starting lineup for the past two games has rewarded head coach KT Turner<\/a>‘s faith with back-to-back 14-point performances.
