AUSTIN, Texas \u2014 Wednesday Friendsday returns with a familiar furry face and heartwarming updates from Texas Humane Heroes<\/a><\/p>\n

It was a feel-good morning on We Are Austin as Wednesday Friendsday made its return, bringing back not one, but two familiar guests joined Sierra Waggoner.<\/p>\n

Kelly Kaelin from Texas Humane Heroes<\/a> stopped by the studio with Miranda\u2014a sweet, laid-back dog who made her first appearance earlier this summer.<\/p>\n

\u201cMiranda came to us as a rescue and she\u2019s come such a long way,\u201d Kaelin said. \u201cShe\u2019s calm, gentle, and loves nothing more than lounging in the sun or going on short walks. She\u2019s just the perfect companion.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Miranda is still waiting to find her forever family, Kaelin said she\u2019s hopeful that this second appearance will help her connect with someone special. \u201cShe\u2019s looking for a quiet home with lots of love. She\u2019d do great with older kids or adults who just want a chill best friend.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kaelin also highlighted a special upcoming event for the organization: their annual **Chili Cook-Off**, a community favorite that blends delicious food with a good cause. \u201cWe\u2019ll have local cooks, tastings, and even some adoptable pets on-site,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s a fun way to support the work we\u2019re doing and meet animals like Miranda.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beyond adoption events, Texas Humane Heroes has expanded its services with the launch of new low-cost veterinary clinics. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe now offer affordable services at our state-of-the-art clinic, from vaccinations and spay\/neuter procedures to dental cleanings and heartworm treatment,\u201d Kaelin explained. \u201cThat\u2019s actually how Miranda was treated for her heartworms. It\u2019s all part of our mission to help more pets stay healthy and find loving homes.\u201d<\/p>\n
