{"id":55145,"date":"2025-11-18T21:30:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-18T21:30:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/55145\/"},"modified":"2025-11-18T21:30:11","modified_gmt":"2025-11-18T21:30:11","slug":"xavier-garcia-pleads-guilty-to-two-2018-lubbock-murders-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/55145\/","title":{"rendered":"Xavier Garcia pleads guilty to two 2018 Lubbock murders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) &#8211; Xavier Garcia pleaded guilty to the murders of 25-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/story\/37289226\/lpd-asking-for-public-help-in-kmydron-jordan-homicide-investigation\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/story\/37289226\/lpd-asking-for-public-help-in-kmydron-jordan-homicide-investigation\/\">Kmydron Jordan<\/a> and 20-year-old <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/story\/37433207\/lso-releases-name-of-victim-found-dead-in-4200-block-of-east-2nd\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/story\/37433207\/lso-releases-name-of-victim-found-dead-in-4200-block-of-east-2nd\/\">Katrina Castillo<\/a> Tuesday morning. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Jordan was shot and killed in January 2018. Nearly a month after Jordan\u2019s murder, Castillo\u2019s body was found in the yard of a home in February 2018.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Judge Trey McClendon in the 137th District Court sentenced Garcia to life in prison without parole for the Capital Murder of Castillo.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Garcia also got life in prison for the murder of Jordan. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The sentences will run consecutively. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">On the morning of January 13, 2018, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/story\/37259854\/police-identify-man-found-dead-inside-car-in-south-lubbock\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/story\/37259854\/police-identify-man-found-dead-inside-car-in-south-lubbock\/\">officers found Jordan\u2019s body inside a vehicle near 84th and Avenue N<\/a> from a gunshot wound. Investigators determined Jordan was shot inside city limits in the 8100 block of I-27 where Jordan planned to meet Garcia and a second man, Devante Greathouse.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/2018\/12\/18\/indicted-murder-january-death-kmydron-jordan\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/2018\/12\/18\/indicted-murder-january-death-kmydron-jordan\/\">Garcia and Greathouse were indicted<\/a> in connection with Jordan\u2019s murder in November 2018.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Greathouse remains in the Lubbock County Detention Center charged with murder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">On February 5, 2018, Castillo\u2019s body was found in the backyard of a home near East 2nd Street and Peach Avenue. The homeowners called the Lubbock County Sheriff\u2019s Office to report her body. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Days later, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/story\/37449521\/person-of-interest-identified-in-murder-of-katrina-castillo-arrested-on-unrelated-charges\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/story\/37449521\/person-of-interest-identified-in-murder-of-katrina-castillo-arrested-on-unrelated-charges\/\">Garcia was identified as a person of interest in Castillo\u2019s murder<\/a> and taken into custody.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Court documents revealed Garcia stabbed Castillo to death after kidnapping and robbing her. Garcia later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/story\/38051407\/xavier-garcia-charged-with-capital-murder-of-katrina-castillo\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/story\/38051407\/xavier-garcia-charged-with-capital-murder-of-katrina-castillo\/\">confessed to her murder<\/a> after he was found in possession of her vehicle at the time of his arrest. <\/p>\n<p class=\"copyright |\">Copyright 2025 KCBD.
