\u201cWe have had sufficient signatures to kind of put this Missouri map on the ballot, and so this kind of adds an additional political check, even if we don\u2019t see courts block this Missouri,\u201d said Vegter. <\/p>\n
Vegter says that at the end of the day, the courts will decide on the outcome of gerrymandered maps.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese maps are going to draw significant scrutiny, and our judicial system is going to be the ones to kind of resolve these conflicts happening across the country when it comes to these gerrymandered maps,\u201d said Vegter.<\/p>\n
She has a message for Kansas Citians as the 2026 midterm elections draw nearer. <\/p>\n
\u201c(A) referendum could delay or block the map from taking effect, and we may not even see these lawsuits to be necessary, essentially,\u201d said Vegter. <\/p>\n
