<\/p>\nPLANO \u2014 North Texas Performing Arts (NTPA) proudly announces the creation of the first regional Musical Theatre Orchestra in North Texas. The program aims to build a live music pipeline for student and professional musicians.<\/p>\n
Senior Music Director Preston Page has been named Artistic Director of this new flagship initiative. \u201cLearning to perform alongside live musicians is essential for a complete musical theatre education,\u201d said Page. \u201cOur audition-based program allows talented musicians to perform in a theatre pit, network with professionals, and expand their artistic skills.\u201d<\/p>\n
NTPA CEO Darrell Rodenbaugh adds, \u201cCreating a live-music experience for select NTPA shows will elevate the performance experience for audiences.\u201d<\/p>\n
The NTPA Musical Theatre Orchestra launches with an eight-show season and serves as a cornerstone of the organization\u2019s professional-level training model. NTPA seeks community and corporate sponsorships to expand live music education and sustain this innovative program.<\/p>\n

The Orchestra will debut with NTPA Repertory Theatre\u2019s production of The Rocky Horror Show, running October 24\u2013November 2 at the Rodenbaugh Theatre, Willow Bend Center of the Arts.
