The victim\u2019s family is pleading for answers.<\/p>\n<p>PLANO, Texas \u2014 The search is on for the driver of an 18-wheeler who investigators say caused a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/news\/crime\/search-18-wheeler-driver-deadly-plano-hit-and-run\/287-d09f4695-f2aa-40ea-9938-ba2dab3cd5f2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">\u00a0deadly crash on the Dallas North Tollway<\/a> last month and then kept going.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Public Safety is asking the public for help identifying the truck, and a grieving family is pleading for answers.<\/p>\n<p>Juan Quiroz\u2019s daughter, Lama, keeps returning to the photos. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlways when times seemed most challenging to him, he always went through with a smile,\u201d Lama said.<\/p>\n<p>Quiroz, a 47-year-old from Dallas, was driving to work<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/traffic\/traffic-alert-dallas-north-tollway-plano-spring-creek-parkway\/287-8eaf6ce7-49b0-47e7-8ac7-2ee2d53c45d9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">\u00a0early on October 21<\/a> when DPS says the driver of a white 18-wheeler towing a white dump trailer made an unsafe lane change on the northbound tollway near Spring Creek Parkway in Plano.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators say the trailer struck Quiroz\u2019s Honda Civic, sending it into a concrete wall before it rolled over. A Ram 1500 and a Toyota Camry then hit the Honda. Quiroz was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Public Safety says the driver of the 18-wheeler did not stop. The agency released a photo of the truck and believes it may have damage to the right side of the front bumper or the front right fender.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne moment he was here, and then the next he was gone,\u201d Lama said. \u201cI just can\u2019t believe how the driver could just storm off like that without stopping to help.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>North Texas Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of the driver. Anonymous tips can be submitted at 877-373-8477 or through the Crime Stoppers website.<\/p>\n<p>Lama hopes someone comes forward so her family can see justice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUntil they speak up, I will never know if they felt bad, or if they feel guilty about this,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Juan Quiroz was the family\u2019s main provider.
