{"id":56773,"date":"2025-11-19T22:30:07","date_gmt":"2025-11-19T22:30:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/56773\/"},"modified":"2025-11-19T22:30:07","modified_gmt":"2025-11-19T22:30:07","slug":"puzzles-of-color-brings-first-ever-black-joy-market-to-plano-this-holiday-season","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/56773\/","title":{"rendered":"Puzzles of Color brings first-ever Black Joy Market to Plano this holiday season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Black-owned vendor market will also feature live performances, activities and pictures with Santa Slate.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"114\" data-end=\"494\">A new holiday tradition centered on creativity, community, and celebration is coming to Plano. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.puzzlesofcolor.com\/?srsltid=AfmBOoq4anTiK3LupptYdhxtTysSvJNjCwsf7gMwAa5aBMJzsMTHXa1f\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Puzzles of Color<\/a> \u2013 the Plano-based, Black-owned puzzle company known for its vibrant artwork and diverse representation \u2014 is hosting its inaugural Black Joy Market on Nov. 22 at <a href=\"https:\/\/planomagazine.com\/kicking-barriers-my-possibilities-scores-big\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">My Possibilities<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"496\" data-end=\"627\">The free, family-friendly event aims to spotlight Black entrepreneurs and artists while spreading holiday cheer across North Texas.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"680\" data-end=\"1002\">Held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at My Possibilities (3601 Mapleshade Ln.), the Black Joy Market will feature more than 30 Black-owned vendors, including Puzzles of Color. Guests can shop unique handmade goods, enjoy live performances, participate in hands-on activities and take home giveaways throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1004\" data-end=\"1196\">Adding to the festive spirit, children and families can meet and snap photos with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DRBSGV7DDS8\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Santa Slate<\/a>, a beloved community Santa who brings representation and warmth to holiday events across DFW.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1198\" data-end=\"1539\">For Puzzles of Color cofounders Eureeka and William Latham, bringing the Black Joy Market to Plano is a milestone. The siblings launched their company in 2020 with a mission to create puzzles that authentically showcase artists of color \u2013 and have since grown into a nationally recognized brand featured by Oprah Daily, Target and ESSENCE.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1541\" data-end=\"1622\">Hosting a community-centered holiday marketplace is an extension of that mission.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1957\" data-end=\"2292\">Attendees are encouraged to give back by supporting My Possibilities, a Plano-based nonprofit serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organization provides continuing education, job training, life skills development, and community engagement for Hugely Important People (HIPsters) across Collin County.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2294\" data-end=\"2439\">By hosting the event on-site, Puzzles of Color hopes to bring more visibility to My Possibilities and deepen community support for their mission.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2473\" data-end=\"2805\">Founded by siblings Eureeka and William Latham, Puzzles of Color offers art-forward, tech-free entertainment featuring work from artists from underrepresented communities.
