{"id":56865,"date":"2025-11-19T23:34:08","date_gmt":"2025-11-19T23:34:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/56865\/"},"modified":"2025-11-19T23:34:08","modified_gmt":"2025-11-19T23:34:08","slug":"child-killed-adult-injured-in-crash-involving-car-and-train-in-tarrant-county-officials-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/56865\/","title":{"rendered":"Child killed, adult injured in crash involving car and train in Tarrant County, officials say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WFAA chopper footage of the scene shows police and emergency vehicles on scene, and a train stopped on the tracks. <\/p>\n<p>HALTOM CITY, Texas \u2014 A child was killed and an adult was injured in a crash involving a train and a car in Tarrant County Wednesday, officials say.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Fort Worth Police say they were called to the scene at Elliot Reeder and Colony Court shortly before 4 p.m., where a vehicle had been hit by a train.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Officials say preliminary information indicates the vehicle, which was occupied by the adult and child, tried to go around an activated train barricade before being hit by the train.<\/p>\n<p>The child was pronounced dead on the scene, and the adult was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, officials say.<\/p>\n<p>WFAA chopper footage of the scene shows police and emergency vehicles on scene, and a train stopped on the tracks.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DARTAlerts\/status\/1991265962822189293\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Trinity Railway Express (TRE) alert\u00a0<\/a>warned that passengers may experience delays because of an incident near Elliot Reeder Road. TRE said a bus shuttle has been requested between Trinity Lakes and Fort Worth Central stations.<\/p>\n<p>WFAA has a crew headed to the scene working to gather more information.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is a developing story.
