{"id":5694,"date":"2025-10-15T23:06:23","date_gmt":"2025-10-15T23:06:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/5694\/"},"modified":"2025-10-15T23:06:23","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T23:06:23","slug":"arlington-texas-police-officer-involved-in-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/5694\/","title":{"rendered":"Arlington, Texas police officer involved in crash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The crash was reported shortly before 10 a.m. at the intersection of South Cooper Street and the Interstate 20 frontage road, according to a police news release.<\/p>\n<p>ARLINGTON, Texas \u2014 An Arlington police officer and another driver were hospitalized after a crash Friday morning, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>The crash happened at approximately 9:50 a.m. at the intersection of South Cooper Street and the Interstate 20 frontage road, according to police. The Arlington Police Department (APD) said a patrol officer conducting traffic enforcement in the area was traveling southbound along South Cooper Street and saw a motorcycle driver who was lane splitting and making unsafe lane changes. The motorcyclist turned onto the eastbound I-20 frontage road.<\/p>\n<p>As the officer attempted to turn left from South Cooper Street onto the frontage road, he collided with a Toyota Camry that was traveling northbound along South Cooper Street.<\/p>\n<p>The impact caused the officer&#8217;s SUV to crash into a light pole, and the other vehicle went into an embankment. Both drivers were taken to area hospitals for treatment, police said.
