This October, the number increased to 358.<\/p>\n<p>What types of foreclosures are there?<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">A completed foreclosure is defined as the final legal step where the lender has taken possession of the property that a borrower is financially responsible for. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The property is repossessed because the borrower has fallen behind on mortgage or loan payments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Another statistic ATTOM tracks in terms of foreclosures is foreclosure starts (FC Starts).<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The process begins when a lender initiates repossession of a property, usually by sending a notice of default to the borrower.<\/p>\n<p>What are the stats in San Antonio?<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Katie Ross is the chairperson for the board of managers of <a href=\"https:\/\/leramls.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/leramls.com\/\">LERA MLS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">She said San Antonio\u2019s market is not seeing that same dramatic jump.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cRight now, as far as Bexar County records, we have 459 homes on the foreclosure list,\u201d Ross said. \u201cSo, for a city of 1.5 million people, we just don\u2019t see that as a drastic trend right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Bexar County maintains a <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.bexar.org\/foreclosures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/maps.bexar.org\/foreclosures\/\">map<\/a> that displays current month mortgage and tax foreclosure notices throughout the county.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">It has clickable pop-ups that reveal basic information, such as zip codes, addresses, school districts and document numbers. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">In November 2025, according to KSAT\u2019s analysis, the map showed that the area west of downtown, specifically zip code 78207, had the highest number of foreclosures at 23.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Ross said foreclosures could have resulted from missed mortgage or loan payments, or failure to pay property taxes.
