{"id":57780,"date":"2025-11-20T14:33:06","date_gmt":"2025-11-20T14:33:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/57780\/"},"modified":"2025-11-20T14:33:06","modified_gmt":"2025-11-20T14:33:06","slug":"thousands-without-power-in-north-texas-as-early-morning-storms-sweep-through-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/57780\/","title":{"rendered":"Thousands without power in North Texas as early morning storms sweep through area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">More than 8,000 Oncor customers across North Texas were left without power Thursday morning following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2025\/11\/20\/live-radar-heavy-rain-thursday-as-storms-flash-flood-warning-issued-in-north-texas\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2025\/11\/20\/live-radar-heavy-rain-thursday-as-storms-flash-flood-warning-issued-in-north-texas\/\">thunderstorms and a brief flash flood<\/a> warning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">About 5,717 Oncor customers are without power in Dallas, Tarrant and Collin counties as of 8 a.m. Thursday, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/stormcenter.oncor.com\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/stormcenter.oncor.com\/\">Oncor outage map<\/a>. Including other counties serviced by Oncor, like Hunt, Denton and Parker, the outages jump to 8,336 customers affected.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">Across most of the counties, restoration times are still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2022\/02\/24\/how-to-check-power-outages-near-you-ercot-power-grid\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/news\/weather\/2022\/02\/24\/how-to-check-power-outages-near-you-ercot-power-grid\/\">under review<\/a>. Oncor is currently monitoring the storm system  as it works to restore power, according to a statement on its site.<\/p>\n<p class=\"body-text-paragraph\">North Texas acquired up to three inches of rain during the early morning storm Thursday.
