The sunshine was warm, but the wind had a mind of its own as families began setting up their tents in Murphy Central Park for the city\u2019s second community campout. The field east of the large pond had spaces for 50 families and the event sold out quickly.<\/p>\n
The temperature was a balmy 80 degrees as check-ins began at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, and the mercury got no lower than 60 overnight, a stark contrast to last year\u2019s 51-degree overnight low.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s like camping in your own back yard,\u201c said Brandon Kresky. He set up early and was waiting for his daughters, ages 4 and 7, to arrive.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThey have some friends coming out here too, so it\u2019s gonna be a fun time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Activities included roasting s\u2019mores, ax throwing, rock climbing and a zipline.<\/p>\n
