CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 A judge sentenced a Corpus Christi man to 13 years in prison on Thursday after pleading guilty to selling crack cocaine from his apartment.<\/p>\n

U.S. District Judge David Morales said 38-year-old Evaristo Coleman will serve eight years in prison for drug trafficking and added five years for a firearm charge, which he must serve consecutively, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As the judge handed down Coleman’s sentence, the court said drugs were found in multiple homes associated with Coleman.<\/p>\n

The investigation began in January following multiple reports of drug sales from the apartment. Agents said they monitored and saw regular customers going to the apartment to buy cocaine and crack cocaine.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In February, law enforcement executed a search warrant at the residence where they discovered more than 100 grams of crack cocaine and nearly 300 grams of powder cocaine.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During the investigation, agents also found two 9mm pistols that Coleman possessed while selling the drugs.\u00a0<\/p>\n
