CPS transforms courtroom for Adoption Day celebration<\/a><\/p>\nAs part of the National Adoption Awareness Month, eight families adopted nine children on Friday. Today’s post-adoption ceremony was followed by a reception and celebration hosted by several community stakeholders.<\/p>\n
Nueces County Honorable Judge Timothy McCoy said, “Over the years here at Court Five, we’ve done, we’ve, I’ve been blessed to be able to be a part of hundreds, uh, of adoptions, and I put pictures of every one I’ve ever done on the wall in there. And it’s gonna be great to add a few more pictures today.”<\/p>\n
Judge McCoy adds that today marked a celebration among parents, caseworkers, and soon-to-be parents for their tireless efforts in bringing the children together and finding them a forever home.\u00a0<\/p>\n
One family in particular that is excited and looking forward to growing together is the Amador family.<\/p>\n
TC and his wife, Kaily Amador, adopted Lainey, their newest addition to their family. The Amador family says they’re very excited that the long process of adopting has come to an end.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Kaily said, “We’re so excited, it’s been a long process, and we’re glad we are finally here. And she’s gonna be part of our family forever.”<\/p>\n
The Amador’s message to the community: Keep going and doing what you are doing; eventually, you will get there. It’s hard, but it’s very rewarding.\u00a0We’re\u00a0so excited that we are\u00a0finally\u00a0at\u00a0the end.<\/p>\n
Currently, in Nueces County, there are still 65 children legally free for adoption, ranging in age from newborn to 17 years.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Each of these adoptable children is looking to become a part of a loving family.\u00a0<\/p>\n
