LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) –<\/p>\n

After a windy, dusty afternoon yesterday, your Friday will stick to a calmer script. <\/p>\n

\"Calm,Calm, mild conditions today(KCBD)<\/p>\n

The system that was responsible for yesterday\u2019s dust is gone and behind it a weak front is expected to slide through. But because it is expected to arrive after a full day of sunshine, it won\u2019t impact temperatures as much. Highs will climb into the upper 60s and low 70s. <\/p>\n

\"HighHigh temperature today(KCBD)<\/p>\n

Once the front moves in, skies will clear, humidity drops, and winds lighten. A nearly perfect recipe for a chilly night ahead. This set up allows heat to escape quickly and lows may dip into the 20s to low 40s <\/p>\n

Saturday will be pleasant and quiet, light winds and sunshine with temperatures in the 60s, the next weather-maker is already lining things up. <\/p>\n

\"TemperaturesTemperatures cool off before Thanksgiving(KCBD)<\/p>\n

As the day winds down, winds will turn southeast late Saturday night and will pull moisture back into the region. <\/p>\n

Far to our southwest, an upper-level low that has been lingering near Baja California will finally start to move. As it lifts into New Mexico, it drags deep Gulf moisture northward into our area. <\/p>\n

\"RainRain chances possible this weekend thanks to a system near California(KCBD)<\/p>\n

By early Sunday morning, that combinations turns the atmosphere into a sponge ready to wring out. <\/p>\n

If that moisture arrives quickly enough, Sunday could become a widespread rain day. <\/p>\n

Showers look increasingly likely to develop around sunrise and become widespread through the afternoon. Temperatures will fall back into the 50s and low 60s. <\/p>\n

\"RainRain chances(KCBD)<\/p>\n

There\u2019s the possibility of a few thunderstorms as well, especially east of I-27, where moisture and instability will be highest. While this isn\u2019t expected to be a severe event, any storm that pops up could be a meaningful rainmaker. <\/p>\n

However, these chances hinge that moisture. If it doesn\u2019t arrive as fast or as deep as predicted, rainfall coverage and intensity could end up lower. <\/p>\n

But we will continue tracking the system and update you with any developments. <\/p>\n

By late Sunday night, any storms that develop are expected to clear out as dry air rushes back in. <\/p>\n

Monday returns to quieter more typical November weather.<\/p>\n
