THE STUDENT BODY AT THE U-OF-A IN FAYETTEVILLE INCLUDES STUDENTS WHO CALL TEXAS HOME. 40-29’S CHIP SCARBOROUGH CAUGHT UP WITH A COUPLE OF THOSE STUDENTS BEFORE THEY HIT THE ROAD TO THE LONE STAR STATE. THE U-OF-A CAMPUS QUICKLY CLEARED OUT FRIDAY AFTERNOON FOR THE START OF THANKSGIVING BREAK. BUT, IT’S ALSO THE START OF A BIG RIVALRY WEEKEND BETWEEN ARKANSAS AND TEXAS. A GAME TAKING PLACE IN THE HOME STATE OF SOME U-OF-A STUDENTS. “Honestly, I would say that there’s a lot of people looking forward to it. I’ve literally had like multiple texts asking me, hey are you going to the UT game? Are you going to the UT game?” DRIVE THROUGH THE U-OF-A CAMPUS AND OF COURSE, YOU’LL SEE A LOT OF ARKANSAS LICENSE TAGS. BUT, YOU’LL ALSO SEE A FAIR AMOUNT OF TEXAS TAGS TOO. “I would say pretty generally, you either hate Texas or you love it. I have not met one person who doesn’t really care.” SO, WHETHER THE GAME IS BEING PLAYED HERE AT RAZORBACK STADIUM IN FAYETTEVILLE OR AT THE HOME OF THE LONGHORNS IN AUSTIN, FANS SAY IT IS ALWAYS A SPIRITED RIVALRY. “I’ve lived in Dallas like my whole entire life. My family, I would say they’re definitely UT fans. I’ve got a twin sister who actually goes to UT right now. But, just me personally, I liked Arkansas. And I honestly, I liked the vibe a lot better than UT.” THAT SPIRITED RIVALRY WAS NEVER MORE APPARENT THAN WHEN TEXAS CAME TO ARKANSAS LAST YEAR TO PLAY. THE STUDENTS WE FOUND TRAVELING TO TEXAS SAY WHILE THEY’RE NOT ACTUALLY GOING TO THE GAME, IT’LL STILL BE FRONT AND CENTER. “I’m excited. I just know me and my family are going to sit in our living room and enjoy the game with some good food. That’s how it’s going to be for us.” AND WAITING TO SEE WHICH TEAM WILL HAVE BRAGGING RIGHTS FOR THE NEXT YEAR. IN FAYETTEVILLE, CHIP SCARBOROUGH, 40-29 NEWS.
