Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Calallen<\/a> couldn’t carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the La Vernia Bears<\/a> on Monday. The Wildcats’ loss signaled the end of their 15-game winning streak.<\/p>\n The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 20-25, 25-19, 25-11.<\/p>\n Despite the loss, Calallen still got an impressive performance from Amelia Hernandez<\/a>, who had 14 digs and two assists. Hernandez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she’s now had 14 or more in each of the last three games she’s played.<\/p>\n Leading La Vernia to victory were Karis Carpenter<\/a> and Keeley Sekula<\/a>. Carpenter had 20 digs and four assists, while Sekula had eight digs and two assists. That’s the most assists Sekula has posted since back in August.<\/p>\n Calallen’s defeat dropped their record down to 36-8. As for La Vernia, the victory was the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 42-9.<\/p>\n Calallen does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for La Vernia, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Bellville on the 15th.<\/p>\n
