The sprawling Texas ranch of Astros legend Craig Biggio<\/a> is still up for grabs one year after first being listed on the market for $12.1 million in 2024.<\/p>\n

The stunning 1,682-acre property in\u00a0Uvalde County, about 60 miles southwest of San Antonio, is in a league of its own, with views of the South Sabinal River and Blanco Creek, a thriving whitetail deer population and plenty of wide-open spaces.<\/p>\n

Originally listed at $12.1 million, the ranch now sits on the market at $10.85 million \u00a0–\u00a0 a $1.25 million difference. In a July interview<\/a> between Republic Ranches Real Estate principal owner and partner Mark Matthews and MLB Hall of Famer, Biggio discussed what made the ranch so special<\/a> for him and his family during his 20-year playing career for the Houston Astros.<\/p>\n

“It’s kind of like for me, this is my escape,” Biggio shared in the July interview. “There’s so much pressure as a baseball player\u2026 You get an opportunity to come to a ranch and get away for a little while. It’s something that I truly treasure because it’s so quiet and peaceful.”<\/p>\n

The ranch served as a\u00a0retreat from the big city<\/a> for Biggio and his family. He says that living there offered his kids the chance to log out of screens and learn how to manage the property with him.<\/p>\n

Located where the Hill Country meets the northern tip of the South Texas Plains, there is a diverse mix of ecosystems spread across the property, including steep bank top vistas, large live oaks, cedar elms and even some cypress trees.<\/p>\n

Peppered with deer blinds, and fenced in along a 150-acre tract, the baseball legend has cultivated the deer population in the area for years.<\/p>\n

“I don’t really like shooting them,” Biggio said in the video. “I just like growing them up. And I just love collecting the\u00a0shedhorns, and that’s like my hunting season, but I like to see what a baby fawn will turn into when it becomes a seven and a half eight year old deer,”<\/p>\n

The property also has a two-story\u00a0barndominium, a two-story structure with three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a complete kitchen with a bunkroom.<\/p>\n

And if you’re a fan of any other team than the Astros, Biggio is OK with you buying the ranch.<\/p>\n

“I like everybody,” the baseball legend said. “Obviously, I love the Houston Astros, but, I mean, I want somebody to come and take this place over that has the same love and the same passion. And they’re going to get the same memories.”<\/p>\n
