Texas Tech women\u2019s basketball won its first road game and remains undefeated after an 82-57 win against the University of New Mexico on Sunday in Albuquerque, New Mexico.<\/p>\n
The Lady Raiders took hold of the lead less than three minutes into the game and increased their lead to 10 points going into halftime.<\/p>\n
Tech senior guard Snudda Collins and junior guard\/forward Jalynn Bristow, who both averaged 16.7 points per game prior to the matchup, led the team with 16 points each. Bristow also led the team with seven rebounds.<\/p>\n
Senior guard Bailey Maupin was right behind Collins and Bristow, scoring 15 points against the Lobos. Maupin went into the game averaging 16.3 points per game.<\/p>\n
New Mexico junior guard Destinee Hooks led the Lobos in scoring with 24 points, marking her highest of the season.<\/p>\n
Tech took its highest number of free throw attempts in a game this season, making 18 of 26 attempts from the free throw line. New Mexico made 10 of 16 free throw attempts.<\/p>\n
The Lady Raiders sit at 7-0 going into the Hoopfest Women’s Basketball Challenge on Tuesday and Thursday in Frisco.
