CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 The City of Rockport has issued a boil-water notice for residents, effective immediately today.\u00a0<\/p>\n
City officials say that due to recent inclement weather, their public water system is experiencing low water pressure. As a result, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is requiring everyone to boil water before drinking, washing, or bathing with it.<\/p>\n
All water should be boiled for at least two minutes to ensure that any harmful bacteria are properly killed off. If you do not want to boil, you can always purchase bottled water or pull from a more suitable source.\u00a0<\/p>\n
If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact the City of Rockport at 361-790-1160. The city says sample collection is underway and samples will be sent to the lab for immediate analysis.\u00a0<\/p>\n
