TYLER, Texas (KETK<\/a>) \u2014 Houston\u2019s Thanksgiving Day Parade, one of the oldest in the country, will celebrate its 76th year with a special performance by the Tyler Junior College Apache Belles.<\/p>\n

The Apache Belles, known for their high-energy routines, have been practicing a high-kick performance all season, which they will showcase as they march through downtown Houston.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a really neat experience getting to prepare to perform in this parade,\u201d Ashley Blair, a freshman Apache Belle, said.\u201dBeing from Houston, it\u2019s been such a big part of my life and so it\u2019s just such a full circle moment getting to go there and perform with my team that I love so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Apache Belles will march along a parade route that spans more than 20 city blocks, culminating in a performance area in front of the grandstands.<\/p>\n

The dancers have been perfecting their routine, which is a different challenge compared to their usual performances on football fields.<\/p>\n

The Apache Belles are set to depart for Houston early Wednesday morning, ready to bring their high kick routine to one of the state\u2019s most historic parades.<\/p>\n
