That amounts to $8,653 paid each year.<\/p>\n<p>Texas take-home income is listed as $78,902 with a home insurance cost of $6,854 and an auto insurance cost of $1,799. The home insurance cost ranked as the fourth highest in the country, while the auto insurance cost ranked as the ninth highest in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The states with insurance burdens larger than Texas\u2019 are Mississippi at 12.91%, Oklahoma at 15.32%, Florida at 16.65% and Louisiana at 18.4%.<\/p>\n<p>The states with the lowest insurance burdens are Hawaii at 2.05%, New Hampshire at 2.32%, Vermont at 2.64%, Washington at 2.79% and Alaska at 2.95%.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Everything is bigger in Texas \u2014 including home and auto insurance, according to a new study.
