San Antonio is among the nation\u2019s worst cities for holiday travel, according to a new report from Forbes Advisors<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

To put a number on it, SA ranked as the sixth-most miserable U.S. city for travel between November and January, pulling in dismal score of 22.2 out of 100.\u00a0<\/p>\n

To get its rankings, Forbes Advisors compared the nation\u2019s 50 largest cities using 10 metrics across four categories, including Travel Costs, Air Travel Experience, City Experience and City Safety.\u00a0<\/p>\n

San Antonio\u2019s poor showing stems from its above-average airport congestion and frequent flight delays and cancellations. Such snags affect an average of 23% of flights at San Antonio International Airport between November and January, according to the study.<\/p>\n

Other factors include the city\u2019s average $192 hotel nights and $418 holiday airfare, both slightly above the national mean.<\/p>\n

More than 137,000 passengers are expected to traverse through San Antonio International between today and Monday. Even so, there are only 15 delays and no cancellations<\/a> as of press time. So, here\u2019s hoping we buck the trend this season.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe continue to ask all travelers to check with their airline before heading to the airport to ensure their flights are not delayed or cancelled,\u201d airport officials told News4SA<\/a> in a statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n
