LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A miracle is defined as an extraordinary event that cannot be explained.<\/p>\n
A Lubbock woman says she understands now that she didn\u2019t get the miracle she prayed for, because that paved the way for many other miracles to come.<\/p>\n
Rick and Holly Betenbough built an empire together, with his father, starting with that first affordable home in Lubbock, costing $37,000 in 1992. Since then, they have built more than 20,000 homes.<\/p>\n
Retired from the business, she is still known as \u201cHolly Hugs\u201d for obvious reasons, and she invited our own Karin McCay back to the Betenbough studio to talk about a new venture called Miracle<\/a>.<\/p>\n But first, you need to know why Holly is working on this project without Rick.<\/p>\n \u201cHe was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. The normal diagnosis and life expectancy for that is four to six months, and my husband lived for two years and two months, and that was a miracle,\u201d Holly said.<\/p>\n Holly says that was the first miracle. Then, after his death, Holly was looking for a way to invest what he had left her and learned of a docu-series about Miracle<\/a> that was almost ready to air. It just needed funding.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd they told me all about Miracle<\/a>, all about the episodes, all about these incredible stories that had come forward, and that they were able to capture on film,\u201d Holly said. \u201cAnd right then, I felt like I heard the Lord say, you didn\u2019t get the miracle with your husband of healing that you prayed for and that you believed for. But how would you like to help me be known in the earth as the miracle worker that i am?\u201d<\/p>\n
