And when it comes to creating an effortless glam look that remains flawless under bright stadium lighting and throughout a cardio-packed dance routine, second-year DCC veteran Ariel Brumfield<\/a> tells Good Housekeeping that another kind of preparation is key.

\u201cI\u2019m a huge believer that skincare is the foundation of a good makeup look,\u201d Ariel says via email. \u201cThe way you prep your skin completely determines how your makeup applies and wears. When my skin is prepped well, my makeup goes on smoother, looks more natural instead of cakey, and overall makes me feel a thousand times more confident.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just ahead of the Red Kettle Kickoff Thanksgiving Halftime show, in which the DCC will perform alongside Post Malone<\/a>, Ariel shared her makeup and skincare favorites from the official Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders beauty sponsor<\/a>, Charlotte Tilbury, and the wellness secrets that help her to look and feel her best when she hits the field.<\/p>\n

Start with a clean canvas.<\/p>\n

Prioritize rest and recovery.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m really intentional about both my physical and mental health during football season,” she says, noting that mat and reformer Pilates are her preferred workouts, as they help to keep her strong and injury-free. “Recovery is just as important to me as the workouts themselves, so I stay consistent with ice baths, foam rolling, saunas, stretching, and mobility sessions before bed. All of that makes a huge difference in how I feel week to week. For my mental health, I prioritize ‘reset nights,’ journaling, self-care days, and giving myself permission to rest socially and emotionally\u2014not just physically. That balance has helped me so much throughout the season.”<\/p>\n
