When the Arizona Wildcats defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils 23-7 in the Territorial Cup on Friday, the Sun Devils\u2019 loss due to Big 12 tiebreakers punched BYU\u2019s ticket to the Big 12 Championship Game.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s official. BYU football will play in the Big 12 Championship Game in Arlington, Texas.<\/p>\n

It was a performance that has caused BYU to tumble down the College Football Playoff rankings to No. 11, currently outside of the Playoff Bracket forecast.<\/p>\n Texas Tech is currently ranked No. 5 in the College Football Playoff rankings. The Red Raiders are knocking on the door of earning a first-round bye in the Playoff if they earn one of the top four bids in the Playoff.<\/p>\n New conference champion in the Big 12<\/p>\n The winner of the 2025 Big 12 Championship will ensure that the Big 12 has a different champion for the sixth consecutive season.<\/p>\n BYU\u2019s last conference championship was in 2007, when it was a member of the Mountain West Conference.<\/p>\n For Texas Tech, you have to go back further: the Red Raiders have never won a Big 12 title, and they have been a member of the league since its establishment in 1996.<\/p>\n The last Red Raiders football conference championship was in 1994, as a member of the Southwest Conference.
