Despite the loss, head coach <a href=\"http:\/\/aggieswire.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/college\/aggies\/football\/2025\/11\/28\/texas-aggies-football-elko-york-reed-comments-texas-week-fourteen\/87519196007\/\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|\u2691u\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Mike Elko<\/a> and his team are a lock to make the CFP, while the Longhorns may have a shot with three top 10 wins after defeating the No. 3-ranked Aggies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Chaos will likely ensue if more upsets come to fruition during Rivalry Week, but for now, most experts believe the Aggies will move down to No. 3-5, 6, or 7, which would mean hosting a first-round game in Kyle Field. According to the updated numbers, Texas A&amp;M would earn the 6-seed and host 11-seed SMU, a team the Aggies have not faced since 2014.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">SMU (8-3) will face Cal on Saturday night, and the only way the Mustangs make the CFP is if they finish the regular season at 9-3 and win the AAC Championship Game.
