The exercise, known as\u00a0Metro X, will simulate coordinated terrorist attacks and mass casualty events across multiple cities \u2014 a scenario designed to stretch the region\u2019s emergency systems to their limits.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Police and fire departments, paramedics, hospitals, dispatch centers, school districts, and city officials will all take part. The goal: to see how\u00a0well North\u00a0Texas can communicate, coordinate, and move as one in a crisis.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Residents near exercise sites may hear simulated gunfire or see emergency responders treating mock victims. Officials are asking the public not to be alarmed and to follow any instructions from participating agencies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These sites will be part of the operation during Metro X:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Plano Fire-Rescue Training Center, 4637 McDermott Road, Plano \u2014 Monday, Oct. 27, 9 a.m. to noon\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\n\tAmon G. Carter Stadium\u00a0at Texas Christian University, 2850 Stadium Drive, Fort Worth \u2014 Monday, Oct. 27, 9 a.m. to noon\u00a0&#13;<br \/>\n\tFrederick P. Herring Parks and Recreation Center, 191 Civic Circle, Lewisville \u2014 Wednesday, Oct. 29, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.\u00a0&#13;<\/p>\n<p>The North Central Texas Council of Governments is\u00a0a regional planning body founded in 1966\u00a0that\u00a0coordinates emergency preparedness efforts among sixteen North Texas counties.
