In a press conference last week, President Donald Trump said he would like to sue the City of Austin to prevent it from holding the No Kings Protest scheduled this Saturday to protest his leadership. <\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s comments were in response to a reporter, who mentioned that the city of Austin was considered waiving a $120,000 fee for what he called an \u201can Anti-Trump rally.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI would love to do something about that, bring a lawsuit, do something,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

The City of Au<\/a>stin was scheduled to consider waiving the fee for the march but removed the item from the agenda before the city met on the issue, Spectrum News reports<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The agenda item was worded as follows: \u201cApprove an ordinance waiving or reimbursing certain fees for the No Kings Day 2 event to be held October 18, 2025 at Auditorium Shores.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to a report by KXAN<\/a>, the item\u2019s sponsor, Austin City Council Member Chito Vela, pulled yanked it from the agenda after the president\u2019s threat of litigation, citing the associated cost.<\/p>\n

The No Kings march will start at State Capitol. As part of the fees considered for the now-scuttled waiver, $80,000 covers the cost of the Austin Police Department protection on the route, according to KXAN.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No Kings protests are scheduled to worldwide, including in San Antonio<\/a> this Saturday. Organizers have said the day of action will be the biggest protest in U.S. history \u2014 a record set by June\u2019s No Kings protest.<\/p>\n

The protest is organized by a broad coalition of organizations, including 50501, Indivisible, unions and a slew of others.<\/p>\n
