They enjoyed a cozy 31-13 victory over the Wildcats. The win was familiar territory for the Bears, who have now won 11 games in a row.<\/p>\n COOPER NULL<\/a> had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 181 yards and three scores while picking up 11.3 yards per carry. Those 181 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. La Vernia also got a significant boost from TY CARTER<\/a>, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 90 yards.<\/p>\n They were just one part of a punishing run game: La Vernia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 302 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they’ve now rushed for at least 179 rushing yards in 21 consecutive contests dating back to last season.<\/p>\n La Vernia’s record is now 12-1. As for Calallen, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 10-3 record.<\/p>\n Looking ahead, La Vernia will challenge Davenport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears will need to watch out since the Wolves have now posted at least 31 points in their last six matchups. Calallen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.<\/p>\n
