Michael Mulvey, who has led the diocese since 2010.<\/p>\n<p>He currently serves as Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Brownsville, a role he has held since 2018.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe welcome Bishop-designate Avil\u00e9s with open hearts and deep prayer,\u201d Bishop Mulvey said. \u201cAs we begin the season of Advent, we are reminded that Christ continues to guide His Church.
