The iconic cows reminding folks to “eat mor chikin” are herding into a new home outside the Alamo City. A small town northeast of San Antonio and just outside of Randolph Air Force Base<\/a> is opening its first Chick-fil-A<\/a> this weekend.<\/p>\n

Universal City, part of the Schertz-Selma-Universal City hub along I-35, will open its very first Chick-fil-A<\/a> on Thursday, October 16, the restaurant shared in a news release. It’s the creation of San Antonio native Troy Luster, who carries decades of experience into the new chicken chain.<\/p>\n

“After 30+ years of serving in various Chick-fil-A restaurants throughout the country, Luster is elated to return home to the community that has impacted him throughout his life,” Chick-fil-A wrote in a news release<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The new chicken shop is celebrating the opening by allowing guests to redeem one free entree or kid’s meal inside the restaurant or drive-thru. All they have to do is “arrive dressed in cow spots or sporting a cow-spotted accessory.” All ages are invited to participate in the giveaway.<\/p>\n

The location on Kitty Hawk Road is smacked between an H-E-B and a Walmart Supercenter, while also being minutes from the Air Force base. So, whether someone needs some chicken nuggets before their curbside order or a spicy chicken sandwich after leaving the base, Chick-fil-A’s newest home will be their new go-to spot.<\/p>\n
